A great leader does not manipulate or cover up that which is true, even if it is unflattering to themselves. They stare the truth in its face and call it what it is whether that truth is pretty, ugly, or unflattering.
A true leader is transparent, and honest to the end- with themselves and others.
An extraordinary and deserving leader makes decisions that are right for everyone and not just convenient for themselves, even if they have to be inconvenienced to do so.

Here are some of my favorite parts of Martin Luther King's "Letter From Birmingham Jail":
"I submit that an individual who breaks a law that conscience tells him is unjust and who willingly accepts the penalty of imprisonment in order to arouse the conscience of the community over its injustice, is in reality expressing the highest respect for law"

My Life...My Flight: New Sister Souljah Book
This book came out a couple of days ago, and I got it as a gift yesterday. I've read every published Sister Souljah book thus far, and I'll start reading this one soon. I have to finish a couple of other books that I've already started first. I'll probably also read the other book that she wrote about Midnight again before I delve into this one. I rarely read fictional books, but I will definitely be reading this one.
